“We are all servants of the Lord. We have His work to do, and all of us must serve Him in our own special way.”
Music is an integral part of the worship service. Martin Luther understood music itself to be an excellent vehicle for the proclamation of God’s Word.
The Chancel Choir leads the people of God at worship. This choir rehearses Sunday mornings 9:00-9:45 AM from September through June.
The Celebration Choir is for people who wish to be a part of our Music Ministry but cannot sing every Sunday. It rehearses on specific Sundays to prepare anthems for Reformation, All Saints, Christmas Eve, Easter and the Feast of Pentecost.
At the Sunday School opening the children learn songs, rounds, and hymns that are appropriate for the church year season. This allows us the opportunity to have them experience the liturgy and hymns of The Lutheran Book of Worship. Of course, everyone always looks forward to hearing the children’s Christmas Pageant anthem.
During the course of the year, we encourage members of the congregation to share their musical talents with us. Some people participate as worship assistants, accompanists, instrumentalists, and vocalists. Their participation certainly enhances our worship experience.
We always look forward to hearing our Handbell Choir. It participates in all parts of the service, including preludes, anthems, descants to hymnody, and accompaniment for the Chancel Choir and the Sunday School children.
We are always looking for new members. Please help us continue to give God the glory by sharing your talents and enthusiasm!
